A father, a son, and a long coast of pools

Jeff and Colin Cox have built Outer Banks pools since 2004.

Four Seasons Pools & Spas is a family company in Point Harbor, NC. This is how two people who started on someone else's crew ended up building and keeping pools from Corolla to Cape Hatteras.

  1. 2004

    Building for someone else

Jeff and his son Colin start out building pools for a company out of Virginia Beach, in the years when hundreds of houses a year were going up across the Outer Banks.

  2. 2004 to 2007

    Corolla to Hatteras

For three years they build pools the whole length of the Banks, learning what sand, salt air and rental-season schedules do to a pool.

  3. 2007

    Their own company

They open Four Seasons Pool Builders Inc, based in Point Harbor, NC.

  4. 2010

    The Cox family pool

The family builds its own pool. Sixteen years later it still has its original vinyl liner.

“We have never advertised, all of our business up til now has been word of mouth.”

Colin builds the pool. Jeff keeps it.

Designer and head of construction

Colin Cox

Colin designs every new pool and leads the crew that builds it. Today he and his crew run the construction side: new pools, remodels and decks, from Corolla to Cape Hatteras, each one drawn as a 3-D rendering before the dig.
