Repair
Spa, heater and equipment repair on the Outer Banks
Four Seasons is a Sta-Rite & Hayward Certified Service Center. Jeff Cox and his techs repair spas, heaters, pumps and covers.
Chapter 01
Spa repair, replacement and covers
Four Seasons repairs spas, replaces them when repair stops making sense, and replaces spa covers. A cover matters more than it looks, because it holds the heat in. Foam that has soaked up water gets heavy and stops insulating, and the spa pays for it in power every day the old cover stays on.
One example job from their records: a new cover with 2# foam, shipping and tax included, and disposal of the old cover, for $385.00. The 2# is the foam density, two pounds per cubic foot, and it is the number to ask about on any cover quote. That job is undated and is shown here as an example, not a current quote.

Heaters, pumps and the equipment pad
As a Sta-Rite & Hayward Certified Service Center, Four Seasons works on heaters, pumps, filters, salt chlorinators, pool covers and liners. Their heater work covers Hayward H-Series heaters and HeatPro heat pumps, for repair or replacement.
The techs are full-time employees and Certified Pool Operators, and they carry common parts on the truck.
For pools Four Seasons builds, the equipment is warranted for 3 years each: the light, cleaner, pump, filter, heater and controls. The build side of the company is described on the custom pool construction page.
Chapter 03
Saltwater conversion and fiberglass gelcoat care
A saltwater conversion is a one-time job priced under $1,000, as published on their service site.
Converting means adding a salt chlorinator, a cell that makes chlorine from dissolved salt, so the pool is no longer dosed with chlorine by hand. Four Seasons services salt chlorinators as part of its regular equipment work.
Fiberglass care is the quieter job. On a fiberglass pool the gelcoat is the smooth outer finish, and calcium silicate scale can whiten it when the water chemistry drifts. Four Seasons does gelcoat care aimed at preventing that whitening.

Repairs and the seasons around them
Equipment is easiest to fix before it is needed. The pool opening and closing page covers the spring startup and the fall winterization, which are the two moments a worn pump or a weak heater tends to show itself.
In season, the techs on the weekly pool service route inspect the equipment at every visit, so a problem is caught while it is small.
